One Word

As in:

Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin.  --Psalm 51:2
Blows that wounds cleanse away evil; strokes make clean the inner most parts.                       --Proverbs 20:30
They shall not defile themselves anymore with their idols and their detestable things, or with any of their transgressions.  But I will save them from all the backslidings in which they have sinned, and will cleanse them; and they shall be my people and I will be their God.                --Ezekiel 37:23
Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God.   --2 Corinthians 7:1

There's a fun little movement out there called One Word.  Begun by Alece, who blogs at Grit and Glory, One Word participants forgo New Year's resolutions.  Rather, they pick one word (clever, yes?) to focus on for the entire year.

There have been so many little earthquakes in my world lately.  So many, in fact, that I sense they are more ground rumblings, preparations for the big event.  As I sense these things happening, as I prepare for my 30th birthday in June, as family life moves forward, I feel the need for God to cleanse.

My heart
My mind
My soul
My life

What one word will you focus on this year?

PS--I wasted the entire first week of 2012 fighting with a new website.  In the manner of cleansing, I walked away from it.  Look for some changes around In The Whisper as I attempt to grow it a little.  And, in the immortal words of Scarlett O'Hara: As God as my witness, I will never go website-building again!
